Some people just don't get it

So, we're kind of new to the area. We've been here for two years. The boys are doing fine in school. Husband loves his new job. I'm teaching again. All is well with the world.

Except for the intolerance here. And the conservatism.

I had some people who don't even know me suggest that because I stayed home with my kids when they were little, used WIC (we were FLAT BROKE) and applied for SSI once upon a time, that we were bad people.

That just burns me up.

These are the people who will bitch and moan about "Welfare Queens" and how shitty government is. But when we played by the rules, qualified for, made use of and then declined assistance as soon as we were on solid ground, I'm a leach.

Jesus. Cut me a break. Especially since most of these people live in very tall ivory towers.

Oh...and most of them call themselves Christians.

Why is it that I see the most Un-Christain behavior from those who purport to be the most devout?

Now I've been threatened with legal action. The rattling you hear is me shakin' in my shoes.

As long as her hubby's an attorney, you'll be threatened with legal action. Everyone that has been threatened with legal action from
"that person" DV, please raise your hands!!!!

My husband just tells me to knock it off when I find myself in a situation I didn't plan on. I guess my husband figures I'm a big girl and can take care of myself, no?
